1. What is the Ecosystem Restoration hub?

The Ecosystem Restoration Hub is the digital meeting place for the #GenerationRestoration movement. It connects individuals, organizations, and initiatives that are preventing, halting and reversing the degradation of ecosystems, and tracks their progress.

Run by the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, this platform contributes to reaching the global goal of restoring at least 1 billion hectares of degraded ecosystems on every continent and in every ocean by 2030.

2. Who can benefit from Using the hub?

The Hub is a valuable resource for anyone interested in ecosystem restoration, including:

  • Individuals: Learn about and support restoration efforts, find volunteer opportunities, and connect with other restoration enthusiasts.
  • Organizations: Onboard your initiatives, discover potential partners, receive support, and stay informed about the latest restoration trends.
  • Policymakers: Gain insights into successful restoration initiatives to inform policy decisions and resource allocation.

  • Initiatives: Explore and connect with projects to support or volunteer with. You can also search by key indicators and geographical location.
  • Best Practices: Access replicable and adaptable approaches, processes, techniques and technologies on ecosystem restoration. Upgrade your knowledge and skills! 
  • Monitoring Platforms: Explore platforms giving you access to a worldwide repository of proven restoration solutions. You can find figures, tools and key indicators on different restoration initiatives.

4. What can I do on the hub?

  • Connect: Find and collaborate with others passionate about restoration. 
  • Share: Showcase your restoration work and gain wider visibility, attracting potential partners and funding.
  • Onboard your network: if you have your own network of initiatives, onboard them to gain visibility and connect with others.
  • Support and volunteer: Find restoration initiatives to endorse, fund or volunteer with.
  • Learn: Access a wealth of resources, including best practices, case studies, and innovative technologies for restoration.

5. How do I join the Ecosystem Restoration Hub?

There are three ways to join the Ecosystem Restoration Hub:

  • Join as a Referring Partner - Organizations that support initiatives on the ground 

    • Make sure that you are already an official partner of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
    • To become a Referring Partner, you must be enrolled under one of the following categories: Lead Agencies, Collaborating Agencies, Funding, Global and Supporting partners. Find full category list here.
    • Showcase and onboard your network.

  • Join as an Implementer - An individual or group actively involved in carrying out on-the-ground restoration initiatives  

    • Sign up by creating a new user account (link).
    • Upload your initiative to be discovered. It must be first endorsed by a Referring Partner. Once you register your initiative, it will go through a verification process before it is approved and published.
    • Connect with other initiatives on the ground to exchange knowledge and experiences.

     

  • Join as a supporter - An individual or group interested ecosystem restoration and would like to get involved with different initiatives  
    • Anyone can join as a supporter of ecosystem restoration. 
    • Explore all initiatives and discover opportunities close to you.
    • You don’t need to create a user account
