Our mission

Our province of Pastaza is a part of the Napo ecoregion of the Amazon rainforest, one of the Global 200 most critical for biodiversity conservation. Some areas of our forests have yet to be fully explored by biologists. While 90% of our area is under legal protection, recently deforestation has been on the rise. Forest fragmentation is particularly harmful for fauna accustomed only to dense forests, who are not often unwilling to cross open spaces. Thus we are intervening to mobilize our citizens and restore these areas and ensure the protection of our natural heritage.
