Our mission

Following changes to the Forest Code in Brazil in 2012, Sao Paolo state is safeguarding water resources and protecting biodiversity by helping landowners in the Atlantic Forest restore legally protected areas alongside rivers to improve water catchment health. The strengthened legal mandate also allows us to reinvest fines incurred by noncompliant landowners into other restoration sites. Finally, we coordinate restoration sites to establish ecological corridors for wildlife. In March 2020, we exceeded our 20,000 hectare restoration goal, and we're committing another 10,000 to the Decade.
