Our mission

Eleven kilometers from the Colombian coast, in the Caribbean Sea, we are restoring the coral reefs of Isla Fuerte. Colombia's coral reefs are crucial reservoirs of biodiversity, draw visitors, and are critical for the livelihoods of coastal fishing communities. Thus we work with local fishing communities and tourists to learn about and participate in restoration work. Our approach to regenerative tourism, combined with alternative forms of finance such as impact bonds and funds, aims to serve as a model of how reef restorations worldwide might start and sustain their own initiatives.
