Our mission
Mexico’s Comprehensive Island Restoration initiative has a clear and ambitious mission:
To conserve and restore Mexico’s island biodiversity by:
- Eradicating invasive mammals (goats, cats, rodents, etc.) from priority islands;
- Rehabilitating habitats through native vegetation recovery and bioacoustic social attraction techniques;
- Re-establishing seabird colonies in historic breeding sites using science-based methods;
- Engaging communities and institutions in long-term monitoring, biosecurity, environmental education, and policy support.
