Our mission

Mexico’s Comprehensive Island Restoration initiative has a clear and ambitious mission:

To conserve and restore Mexico’s island biodiversity by:

  • Eradicating invasive mammals (goats, cats, rodents, etc.) from priority islands;
  • Rehabilitating habitats through native vegetation recovery and bioacoustic social attraction techniques;
  • Re-establishing seabird colonies in historic breeding sites using science-based methods;
  • Engaging communities and institutions in long-term monitoring, biosecurity, environmental education, and policy support.
