Our mission

In mountainous regions, climate change is driving animals to higher elevations in search of cooler temperatures. Often these areas have already been logged or converted to pasture, leaving these animals without refuge as temperatures rise. Sometimes, in highly biodiverse areas, even intact upslope forests don't provide the same food sources to these highly specialized species. In the Buenaventura reserve of Ecuador's southwestern slopes, we're creating habitats that will be suitable for biodiversity by reforesting upslope pastures, with the aim of preventing climate-induced extinctions.
