Our mission

The rivers that flow from Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru deliver essential freshwater across the mountain's landscapes and communities to the Pangani Basin. However, simultaneous drainage and deforestation for agriculture have accelerated degradation, threatening the livelihoods of local communities and the lives of flora and fauna. We aim to show how agroforestry along the riparian zones of 20 rivers could be a win-win for ecosystems and their inhabitants, with a focus on capacity-building to sustain regenerative practices for decades to come.
