Our mission

Appearances can be deceiving. We inspire and empower thousands of smallholder farmers to embrace the shriveled and thorny trees and perennials of the Sahara and Sahel. Our research has shown that through direct seeding and natural regeneration techniques, these forgotten and stigmatized native trees can facilitate restoration in lands threatened by desertification. We turn the often small, dry, or bitter fruits, seeds, and leaves they produce into quality foods fit for 21st century diets.
