Our mission

We work to return areas of South Africa that have been denuded by overgrazing to their former state of dense, thicket vegetation. Restoration of this vegetation will provide habitat to animals such as the black rhinoceros, the African elephant and the Eastern Cape dwarf chameleon. An indigenous succulent tree, commonly known as spekboom, which grows from cuttings, makes this possible. It is drought and fire-resistant, reduces erosion and stores large amounts of carbon. In cooperation with farmers and landowners we seek to establish restoration economies of scale one spekboom cutting at a time.
