Our mission

By 2030, we aim to have planted 15 million mangrove trees in the Ouémé MAB-Unesco Reserve around Nokoué Lake. This ecosystem is classified as Key Biodiversity Area, refuge for the West African manatee and dwarf crocodile, and an important flyway for migratory birds. Local communities are heavily dependent on fishing, aquaculture, and other natural resources. Yet when degraded, mangroves leave communities more susceptible to flooding. Thus our project is using a participatory reforestation approach to ensure that their well-being and food security goes hand-in-hand with restoring the ecosystem.
