Our mission

In Campeche, Mexico, we're restoring recently abandoned cattle pastures and forest patches that were heavily selectively logged to their natural state as seasonal, semi-evergreen tropical forest. We work to restore forest connectivity and canopy cover by selectively replanting lost species at the rate of 1100 native trees per hectare. These areas proximity to less disturbed forest landscapes in the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve should facilitate the recovery of local biodiversity by increasing the carrying capacity of the ecosystem.
